Sweet Knee Review and Giveaway!

I am constantly on the lookout for bath products for both Elijah and I that contain organic ingredients and are all natural. I was so delighted when I came across Sweet Knee. One look at their adorable website and I knew I had to try some of their products.
Kristy, the mama behind Sweet Knee, started out by developing Bun Glaze for her son who had a terrible diaper rash, so terrible his doctor wanted to prescribe steroids because no over the counter or prescribed medications were working. Within 24 hours of using Bun Glaze his rash was gone and Sweet Knee was born.
Kristy wanted to develop a line of truly natural products using organic ingredients that didn't contain tea tree or lavender (because they are highly estrogenic! I never knew that before speaking with Kristy).
Kristy formulates, manufactures, and designs all the labels herself and her husband processes all of the orders in their self designed (by her father in law) and built (by her husband) lab in the H.C Platt building in North Myrtle Beach, SC. Sweet Knee is a true mom and pop company. I love that!

Kristy was generous enough to send me three samples for review: Bun Glaze, Hulababy Bar Soap, and Oatmeal Cookie Bath.
My first impression when I received my package was these were the cutest baby bath products I have ever seen. You can tell so much love goes into each item!

Bun Glaze

This product smells like dessert, it's amazing. If you wanted to you could probably eat it because it's 100% natural, and you just might want to eat it because it smells that good, although I suggest you save it and use it on your baby (and you!) instead.
Bun Glaze is full of vitamins A, D, & E and contains marshmallow leaf*, plantain leaf*, calendula flowers*, German chamomile flowers* infused in olive oil*, sunflower oil*, cocoa butter*, and beeswax.
Elijah had a few dry spots on his arms and back so I massaged him with the Bun Glaze during diaper changes. His skin is no longer dry. We love this stuff! If you've tried every other diaper rash cream out there and nothing works I highly suggest Bun Glaze!

Hulababy Bar Soap

As soon as I finish this review I should email Kristy and tell her to make some products for mom too, cause I keep using Elijah's! This soap is fabulous. I love bar soaps, I don't know why, I just always have. This bar soap is pretty too! You can see all the calendula flowers inside of it. Besides calendula the only ingredients are saponified oils of palm*, coconut*, and olive*, and aloe vera*. That's all soap should be! It lathers up nicely and it's moisture rich so it leaves your skin silky smooth. It's gentle for baby's body and perfect for their fine downy hair. It has a lovely scent too. I'm hooked.

Oatmeal Cookie Bath

Finally, last but not least, we tried the Oatmeal Cookie Bath. This is not the oatmeal bath that I had when I was a kid with chickenpox, but I wish it was! Elijah and I bath together so I filled up the tub with this oatmeal bath. It contains oatmeal*, calendula flower*, German chamomile flower*, and marshmallow leaf*. It comes with a muslin bag that you can fill up to soak in the bath, or you can put the mix directly into the water (I suggest the muslin bag just because you will have to rinse your tub a bit after if you don't use it, but it's not a big deal). This oatmeal bath has a very light lovely scent and it's relaxing! The brochure I got with these items says that natural health care practitioners recommend using oatmeal baths instead of soap on your baby for the first 6 months, so this would make a perfect gift for a mama to be or a newborn baby welcome home gift! You can also make a paste out of this and put on the affected area to heal it right up.

*certified organic ingredients

I am so happy I found this wonderful company. Their products are fantastic and I love being able to support small businesses.

I don't know if this where i should post in response to the tea tree and lavender oil. I saw where there was a concern about their estrogenic effect and did some research. The study done was first taken out of context, the boys affected where all from the same area, used same paul mitchell shampoo with very little traceable tea tree oil and no other enviromental or health factors were considered. Research shows that soy, garbanzo beans and alot of other food products we eat, also have the same estrogenic result. I will look further into the matter because I often use tea tree on my baby. thanks for mentioning that information.

I think I would want to try the hulababy bar. My little one is African American/caucasian and skin care is tough because she's so dry-skinned but she LOVES to soap up. Maybe this would solve our struggles with bathtime that generate around overuse of soap.
